You can’t go wrong with a book-slot, so it’s almost obvious that all providers have at least one of them. This time we will be looking at the Playson’s very own version, called Book of Gold: Classic. Ancient tombs await us once more.
This classical 5 x 3 layout Book of Gold slot comes with all the essential features and mechanics of an Ancient Egyptian slot. The potential is very good too, more than it is offered on average, with the max payout being 5000x. If you have at least a basic knowledge of online slots, then the Book of Gold mechanics already will feel familiar, but nonetheless, we will take a deeper inspection.

Diablo Reels Review
Book of Gold Review
Game Layout: 5 Reels x 3 Rows Release date: 17th of May 2019
Design and Payouts
As already stated, Ancient Egypt is the theme of the Book of Gold slot. Few pyramids are scattered in the background as a beautiful orange and purple skies spread across the scene. It is great to see that the background isn’t completely static, as a couple of dust particles make their way around. Of course, it might seem like such a small thing to notice, but it adds a lot to the overall feel of the slot.
The design of symbols isn’t all that impressive, but they fit with the theme well, so this isn’t a huge letdown. Book of Gold: Classic features 9 regular symbols and a scatter. There are no Wilds – the only substitution comes from the scatter symbols. The low paying symbols are five of the royals, each styled in a different colour finish. The four high paying symbols represent Egyptian symbols and hieroglyphs. It seems like symbols, which dominant colour is red and gold, generally pay more, so keep that in mind if you forget the paytable.
Book of Gold: Classic is very volatile, so this slot definitely is riskier if you’re planning to only place a few bets, as a chance to strike a dry spell is much higher. But, then again, with just a few placed bets, you can find yourself hitting some huge wins. Book of Gold RTP nails a standard rating of 95.94%, so nothing much to comment here. As it comes with these tomb exploration slots, the max payout tends not to disappoint, rightfully so the same can be said about 5000x max win on Book of Gold: Classic. Bet Range follows the typical Playson standard of 0.10 – 100 EUR, so also here, no additional comments.
Bonus Features
Like the name of the game, Book of Gold: Classic requires players to collect 3 or more Scatter book symbols on a single spin. Scatter is a golden book with a portrait of Pharoah on it. The main bonus is simply-known as Free Spins, and the player gets ten of them in total. At the start of the Book of Gold Free Spins, a random symbol is chosen - it is called a Special Expanding Symbol. Once the chosen symbol lands, it fills up the whole reel. The more valuable Special Expanding Symbol you get, the bigger can be the total payout. Keep in mind that more valuable symbols are harder to land, as they appear on reels less. If you get 3 more Book of Gold scatters during the bonus game, then you are awarded an additional 10 free spins.
Conclusion
Book of Gold: Classic is a textbook Book slot that follows the well know mechanics of such style of game. As we said, these Ancient Egyptian slots are almost a must-have for each provider, so they usually all are very similar. Playson has done a nice job on their version, as it comes with no real flaws, just a simple, fun, and rewarding slot, that does nothing too much and nothing too little. If you’re a fan of these kinds of slots, then Book of Gold: Classic will surely be something up your alley.
