Just like any Megaways slot, the first thing you spot is the massive game layout, which is filled with many symbols. For Power of Thor, the layout can extend up to 6 reels and 7 rows. Straight away, Power of Thor Megaways brings a proper intensity, which the music reflects well. We seem to be located somewhere in Scandinavia, as the biome suggests. You can also spot a rune stone on the left side, which should leave no doubts about where we are. Power of Thor Megaways come with up to 117,469 paylines.
The symbols of the Power of Thor Megaways slot don’t provide the most authentic Viking look. To be fair, It looks more like a fantasy setting with dwarves and elves. Low symbols are simple 9 – A, but you can see rune writing inside these symbols, which is a nice little touch. Including Thor, we have 4 game characters. A shield maiden and two fellow warriors, which again, look more like dwarves then Viking warriors. From the graphical standpoint, symbols are well made and the quality is great. Power of Thor Megways also has a Wild symbol which appears on reel 2, 3, 4 and 5, on the top row.
On each spin, the amount of symbols you get on screen is different, hence also the number of Megaways. Like almost any Megways slot, Power of Thor comes with a maxed out volatility or as we like to call it, big risk big potential. Although if we compare the 5,000x max payout with some other Megways titles, it is not a staggering amount, still, more than decent. Other than that, we got a very acceptable RTP of 96.55% and a bet range of 0.01 – 20, which is perfect for smaller bets. We didn’t include Tumble Feature as a separate bonus, because all Megaways slot comes with this mechanism, where winning symbols disappear and then are replaced by new symbols within a single bet. We are pleasantly surprised with the Power of Thor Megaways. Combining Norse culture with Megaways is not a first, but still Pragmatic pulled it off. The visuals perhaps don’t provide the most authentic Viking feel, but most likely that was not the focus. Otherwise, the slot looks and sounds great. For a Megaways slot, the 5,000x max payout may seem on the low side, but good wins come fairly frequent and the Hammer Feature allows for some big base game hits. All in all, Power of Thor Megaways is a great slot, with no significant drawbacks.
