Lion’s Hoard is a great display of wealth, even Midas would be jealous. Word “hoard” is very fitting as players will need to collect various treasures to progress through their journey of wealth. Lion’s Hoard overall seems like a basic slot, but it brings some more unusual game elements, which we will cover shortly. Who knows what mysteries await us, so there is only one way to find that out.

Lion’s Hoard Slot Review
Gameplay and Payouts
Our first impressions are a bit mixed. Lion’s Hoard certainly attracts with its golden look. The floor is covered with golden coins and the almost alien-like monument blinds with its beauty. We are certainly not on a safari. On the other hand, if we take away the golden effect, Lion’s Hoard is quite basic looking. Although there are no living lions, we can see four lion monuments on top. These monuments have another meaning, but we’ll get to that part. The enlarged size is noticeable, as Lion’s Hoard comes with 5 reels and 4 rows.
Quite typical to such a layout, we also get 20 paylines. To delight many, paylines pay both ways. Symbols, as you could imagine, reflect various treasures and gems. It’s not so noticeable at first, but low symbols are card suites, they are just styled as gemstones. High symbols contain some objects, which are all engraved with gold. The Lion’s Hoard symbol list includes a ring, sword, shield, helmet and crown. Visually speaking, they look alright, they are certainly nothing too special if we take away all the gleam and shine. Just like on most slots, you need at least 3 symbols of the same type to trigger a winning combination.
It’s shiny and full of gold, at least when it comes to game visuals, but how much can Lion’s Hoard back that up with its payouts? Short answer, quite well. Lion’s Hoard is a high potential, high volatility slot but the stats aren’t necessarily flawless. The RTP, which is 95.77% is reasonable and the max win of 7,150x is quite attractive. The hit rate is on the low side, it will be tough to actually come close to that max payout, but technically it’s possible. Red Tiger slots are well optimized, so Lion’s Hoard runs well on all devices. The available bet range is 0.10 – 10, so as you see, it’s quite limited, especially for high rollers.
Summon your inner hoarded because we are about to collect some diamonds. All reels, except the middle one, can drop diamond scatters. This is also where we return to our lion monuments. Each lion has 4 meters. Once these meters are filled with diamonds, the corresponding reels turn into Diamond Reels. Instead of regular symbols, only Mystery Stones drop on these reels. Until you reach a win, all available mystery stones reveal one matching regular symbol.
If you manage to collect 4 White Diamonds in succession, then the multiplier for that reel is increased by one. Any winning paylines, that passes the multiplier reel are also multiplied. Multipliers can multiply each other up to a maximum of 96x.
The middle reel is excluded because it contains drops of Blue Diamond scatters. Just a single blue diamond scatter fills up all the Diamond meters across the reels. If these meters are already filled, then the multiplier for them is increased by 1x.
Lion’s Hoard doesn’t just come with regular Wilds, instead, players are presented with the Super Wild, which can only come from Mystery Stones. This Wild will always come in a size of 1x4. If Mystery Stones reveal 4 smaller Wilds, then they will merge to form this Super Wild, which becomes sticky until you reach a win.
If you’re so obsessed with gold like King Midas, then Lion’s Hoard will be the most beautiful slot for you. It’s all about the gold and the shine that it brings, but as we said, if you take away that glimmer, then Lion’s Hoard looks quite basic. It’s also not the first treasure-focused slot we’ve had from Red Tiger, so in a sense of uniqueness, it’s nothing new. If we put the visuals aside, the gameplay is quite alright. It’s a bit unusual to see no free spins or other bonus games, but these Diamond Reels are an interesting idea. The continuous scatter collection can put you in a bit of an endless cycle, but if you hit the right pieces, then Lion’s Hoard can come up with a 7,150x max win, which is not a small win to be had.
