Undiscovered treasures lie in the tomb of an Ancient Pharoah what once was the Kingdom of Mesopotamia. This exploration is not for the faint-hearted, so tread lightly, as this journey for the ancient treasures is going to be action-filled.

For the first time ever, NetEnt is presenting its new trademarked feature called Infinireels. The game comes with 27-3,486,784,401 paylines, and that’s some paylines you probably don’t see every day. With an intense theme and med/high volatility, this title holds a lot of expectations, so let’s see how they are met.

Gameplay and Symbols

The elephant in the room, of course, is the Infinireels feature, but we will get to that a bit later on, let’s take a look at the design and gameplay first. As on any other NetEnt game, also here the gameplay is smooth with a constant flow of FPS (frames per second).

The visuals, surprisingly, are quite simple, don’t get it wrong, it is a fine-looking game, but generally, there is nothing over extraordinary happening around. We see piles of riches in a dark secluded lair which is most likely the tomb.

Gods of Gold has a very ominous feel to it, especially if we talk about the background soundtrack, you could even make a horror movie out of this. In all seriousness, we like how it looks and sounds.

Symbols are quite menacing as well, so they fit the bill perfectly. The top symbol seems to be the Ancient Pharoah himself, after that, we have a Queen, Bull, and an Owl, all of them looking slightly scary in their way. The bottom four are gem symbols, colored pink, purple, green, and blue.Gods of Gold Infinireels slot symbols

Stats and Payouts

If we take a step back and take a look at all the game stats, you might be in for a slight brow raiser. The starting layout is 3x3. It’s a small playing field but it gets improved with the Infinireels feature, which, of course, adds ‘’infinite’’ number of extra reels.

Volatility is medium/high so that kind of falls in line with everything else. Now the beautifully big number is the one for paylines. They are 27 and can go up to (technically) 3,486,784,401 (it seems Megaways are getting some competition).

That, in return, affects the max payout, which is 25,000x, so you can imagine the possibilities here. Highrollers and experienced slot players surely will find some enjoyment in all this. All these stats are achieved with more than 10 billion test spins, so take all the numbers with a grain of salt, as you would need to be super lucky to reach the max potential.

When it comes down to bets, the range is 0.20 – 200EUR, oh and the RTP is 96.21%, so this is more than less the average value for most of the recent NetEnt games.

Bonus Features

We’ve been talking around it for too long so let us check out in detail what is Infinireels about. This is a totally new feature for NetEnt and this is the first game that has it. Gods of Gold is played with 27 lines at the start and each win adds another reel, that in return multiplies paylines by 3. New reels are added as long as you score more wins, once the winning stop, previous combinations are paid out and the game returns to the starting 3x3 layout.

To make things easier to follow and understand, NetEnt has added a Minimap and a Symbol Counter. Minimap is a small overview located at the bottom. It shows the pattern of the winning combinations that you have had. Symbol counter shows the winning symbol and the length of the win for this symbol at the top. At the bottom, you can see how many ways this symbol has racked up.

Two additional features that come with Infinireels are the Re-Spins and Multi-Slam. After winning combination has come to an end and the reel stops, random Re-Spins feature grants an additional spin, so there is a chance to continue the streak. Multi-Slam feature on the other hand randomly provides 2-3 reels at once, instead of just one after a win.

Without all the fancy new stuff we also have some more classical features like Wild Symbols and Free Spins, here called the Win Spins. The wild symbol does its job like anywhere else, substituting for all symbols except the scatter, but it can only appear on the fourth reel and the next ones ahead.

Win Spins are triggered by landing 3 Scatter symbols, in return players are given 10 Win Spins. The feature starts only when the active combination is paid out at the end. What makes it have such a name is the fact that each spin guarantees a win. Each new Scatter awards an additional 5 spins. When the feature is over, it’s back to square one – 3x3 layout.

Conclusion

Every time NetEnt brings out a new feature, there is naturally a lot of excitement around and even more so, high expectations. Gods of Gold hasn’t been the flashiest of displays and we feel like the first game that represents your new feature should be phenomenal, so there is a bigger hype for future titles using the same mechanics.

But it also did a lot of things right, the game can be really fun and that excitement of linking up winning combinations is definitely there. We are looking forward to seeing what’s next for the Infinireels in the future.
