Early middle ages, also known as Dark Ages were gruesome and unforgiving times. Only the most cunning could survive, as the world was ravaged by wars and plagues. Crown of Valor offers an immersive experience to be a part of a castle siege. Blazing castle walls and knights dressed in heavy armour with battle axes and swords as their main companions, these are some of the sights you will witness in the upcoming brutal battle provided by Quickspin.
Crown of Valor slot is as intense as the heat of the battle. It’s a 5x5 cluster pays slot, that uses the same 3D engine that we saw on Nero’s Fortune. This is great news, as Nero’s Fortune was one of the best looking slots we have seen in a while, it came with fluid animations, vibrant graphics and great camera angles, so Crown of Valor is an absolute beauty in this matter. Besieging a castle isn’t a child’s play, but once you penetrate that main gate and secure the grounds, wonderful treasures will be there for you to enjoy.

Crown of Valor Slot Review
Gameplay and Payouts
When we opened up Crown of Valor for the first time, we sat there for a while, not making any spins, just taking in the ambience and atmosphere. It is a truly gorgeous display of graphics, in its own gritty medieval way. The background music set an especially intense mood, it really immerses you into the battle. This is perhaps a little biased because of the personal interest in this time period, but we believe that anyone can recognize the great work Quickspin have put into Crown of Valor. The cutting animations, when you do a tumble, provide some Fruit Ninja vibes, if perhaps that’s what you’re more into.
The Crown of Valor symbols aren’t extremely detailed, but rarely that is the case with bigger layout slots, as too much detail on a large number of symbols could be visually overwhelming. There are 8 regular symbols split equally into lows and highs. Low symbols are stone slabs, with a metallic J, Q, K and A, meanwhile high symbols are sigils of an eagle, tiger, lion and crown. The highest regular payout is 250x for 12 crowns. Like on Nero’s Fortune, symbols land with a heavy thud, kicking up some dust in the air. This is a seemingly small addition, but it greatly adds to the immersion. Because of the Cluster Pay, regular paylines are stripped away, instead, wins are formed by clusters of 5 or more symbols.
The intensity of a medieval siege is also brought over to payouts, for better or worse. Why do we say that? Simply because Crown of Valor can be brutal and stingy. You can easily find yourself with a bunch of empty spins, or when wins come, they are only 2x or a little bit more. This, of course, is not always the case, but just be attentive to the high volatility nature of Crown of Valor. With hard labour comes sweet fruits, so yes, Crown of Valor is capable of paying out a max win of 15,000x. The default RTP is 96.16%. The bet range for Crown of Valor slot is 0.20 – 100, so in other words, a Quickspin standard.
Where you have cluster pays, you also have the Tumble Mechanics, which means that after every successful combination on Crown of Valor, symbols that are part of the win will be removed and new ones will be added to fill the empty spots. The tumbling ends when no new wins are possible. Also, after every win, a Burning Wild will be added to the reels. Any Burning Wild involved in a winning combination will boost the current multiplier meter by one. The multiplier will then be added to every new spin win.
During the main game only, there is another meter that will keep the track on the number of tumbles you have made. To fill it up, you need to collect 18 winning tumbles. Once that is done the Wild Fire feature will be triggered. This Crown of Valor feature will instantaneously add 4 Burning Wilds in random positions on the game reels.
Crown of Valor Free Spins are triggered by 3, 4 or 5 scatters. The reward is 10, 14 or 18 Free Spins respectively. Just as before, every tumble adds an extra multiplier, although this time the multiplier doesn’t reset if no combination is made. Any Burning Wild involved in a win will also add to the multiplier. Every new bonus symbol adds an extra Free Spin. These Crown of Valor Free Spins can also be bought straight away for the price of 80x.
Middle age enthusiasts can rejoice. Crown of Valor is a true medieval gem. Quickspin have done wonders with the presentation, it is dramatic, intense and immersive. We can say, that in this department, our high expectations have been met. Crown of Valor is very similar to Nero’s Fortune so if you enjoyed the previous title, the Crown of Valor should also be a game up your alley. The high volatility and the intense nature of the Crown of Valor slot can be tough to handle. You have to be very patient and not lose your head when you are barraged with the empty spins. If you manage to keep your composure, then Crown of Valor turns that frown upside down, with the amazing wins that can come from the bonus features.
