You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Evoplay have always stood out for their uniqueness when it comes to visual effects and themes, but they also have now succumbed to the idea of Egyptian book slot. Of course, for the most part, we are just joking, but it is obvious that Temple of Dead can be considered as another Book of type game, with Book of Dead being the most prominent slot, that everyone follows by example.
With Temple of Dead, we are returning to the roots of modern video slots, a simple 5 reel slot with a single bonus feature, that holds in the essence of the slot’s potential. And the potential is definitely there as Temple of Dead comes with a huge 10,000x max payout, which for Evoplay is on the high side, but not the highest payout, as Arcane Tower offered 15,000x. From the first look, this definitely doesn’t look like your typical Evoplay slot, but perhaps that is a good sign, we will find out if there is any truth to that.

Temple of Dead Slot Review
Gameplay and Payouts
For the last time, we will make it known, that Temple of Dead visual effects are much less impressive if we compare them to all the new titles we’ve been receiving from Evoplay. You can’t really call this a classical slot, but it sort of feels that way. The main protagonist of the slot is Indiana (Yes, Jones) from the Indiana Quest slot. He now has embarked on a trip to Ancient Egypt, in an attempt to find the secret treasures of Pharaoh. Equipment with the iconic whip, Indiana must find the books that will guide him to the hidden fortune. Temple of Dead background portrays the temple entrance as we see the two fiery braziers and two decorated pillars.
Temple of Dead comes with the regular set of symbols. Low paying symbols are covered with 10-A while high paying symbols are three humble priestesses of Pharaoh, who guard the books that Indiana seeks. Indiana himself is the top paying regular symbol providing 500x for a full line. In total, Temple of Dead comes with 10 fixed paylines. As you can see the game model is very simple, so there is pretty much nothing else to add, 9 regular symbols and 10 lines.
The math model just as everything else is simple and straightforward. Temple of Dead is a high volatility slot, so you always have to be attentive when the game is hot or cold, because if it’s the latter, then you’re in for a long night. The RTP is somewhat standard, falling minimally below the average, being 95.99%. Temple of Dead is one of those slots where it’s all about the bonus game. The best win you can score during the main game is 600x, meanwhile, the max win during the bonus game can go up to 10,000x, quite the difference. Temple of Dead bet range is 0.10 – 75 EUR/GBP. This slot can be played on all devices.
Temple of Dead Free Spins
If you’ve played slots such as Book of Dead or even older ones like Book of Ra, then the Temple of Dead Free Spins feature will not be a stranger to you. Once you have acquired at least three Scatter books, the bonus can begin. You will start with 10 Free Spins, but you can add more spins with extra scatters. Before Free Spins, one symbol will be selected as the Expanding symbol. Once this symbol lands on the reels, it expands to cover the whole reel, if a winning combination is possible. Symbols don’t need to be place adjacent for a win to be formed. Higher value symbols can provide bigger wins, while smaller value symbols provide more consistency.
For Evolay, Temple of Dead seems like a journey off the beaten track, as we are more used to highly animated slots, with sparkly visuals and all kinds of different mechanisms and features. Temple of Dead, on the other hand, takes a step back, providing a more textbook slot gameplay. We have almost made it sound like a bad thing, but don’t interpret it wrongly, we think Temple of Dead is a nice addition to the Evoplay portfolio, as sometimes you need those simple slots, that keep everything uncomplicated, plus the max payout is no slouch either, as 10,000x is one of the higher potentials we’ve seen from this provider. To sum it up, Temple of Dead doesn’t come with fancy visuals or revolutionary features, instead, it offers a proven formula, that many of us love to enjoy.
