ELK Studios are fond of Sci-fi theme, so this is not their first rodeo in this regard. Cluster Slide action takes place on a fantasy planet named Jellyton. The planet which is home to these monsters is a bit dark and maybe not so inviting, but the 3 planets above are colourful and the music is funky and cheery, so overall it’s positive vibes. The big 7 x 8 layout is situated between crystal-like stones, while colourful jelly monsters sit tightly inside. Cluster Slide is a Cluster pays slot, so wins are made by clusters of 5 or more identical symbols, which can be matched horizontally and vertically.
The Jellyton name comes from the inhabitants of the planets, as these monsters are made out of jelly. This especially can be seen when new symbols land on each other or when they explode on a new win. It would be rude not to say hi, so let’s meet the jellies of Cluster Slide. Jelly symbols come in sets of two, which are the low and high-value monsters. On the low side, we got the green, purple, yellow and red jelly monsters. High symbols follow the same colour sequence, but these monsters are furrier, oh and the red high monster has a moustache and a crown, for some odd reason. Cluster Slide feels a bit inspired by Reactoonz, especially before the jellies explode, as then we see their real one-eyed faces.
Cluster Slide is a wonderful mix between casual gaming and hardcore grind. The medium-high volatility works great with the Cluster Pays. You will find just the right amount of action. By that we mean, that there aren’t too many dry spins, but there also aren’t too many low wins. As you know with clusters, it’s possible to find yourself sitting for multiple seconds on a single spin, just to get a 2x at the end. Cluster Slide definitely is a new experience. It obviously looks to be inspired by Reactoonz, but it is an impressive game all on its own. Cluster Slide is not a whole new world, because it is obviously inspired by other titles, but it is refreshing, so overall a solid job from the ELK Studios team.
