There is certainly no mistaking Big Juan as he takes up almost half of the game screen. He seems like a jolly character, but he is also wielding two revolvers, so we won’t rule out a cartel connection. On a more serious note though, the Big Juan slot isn’t the most incredible looking slot. The poor visual quality is especially noticeable on the splash screen. It looks like the street was done in Paint around 5 minutes, so surely not the proudest Pragmatic slot, at least from the visual standpoint. We also get a pretty basic Mexican soundtrack, which doesn’t add much to the presentation. It may sound a bit harsh, but the presentation on Big Juan is quite poor.

During gameplay, the 5 by 4 game layout thankfully blocks out most of the street, so all we see are the reels and Big Juan himself. Big Juan is a 40 line slot, so there are plenty of possible win combinations. We did bash the presentation a bit, but the symbols slightly improve the overall picture. There are plenty of special symbols to consider, but we’ll get to those in a bit. The regular symbols are evenly split into 5 lows and 5 highs. The low card symbols look like colourful crackers, meanwhile, high symbols are more interesting objects and characters. If we begin with the lowest, these are guitar, hot sauce, chihuahua, lady and Big Juan. The flaming red chilli is the Wild symbol.

Big Juan certainly is volatile, but it’s also not the most explosive Pragmatic slot. Its max win can reach up to 2,600x, which is decent, but modern slots are usually bringing in bigger payout opportunities than this. One thing though, that’s better than what would average slot offer is the RTP. On Big Juan, it is 96.70%, which is definitely on the high side. Conclusion

Big Juan definitely has its pluses and minuses. We weren’t that impressed with the visuals, we believe that more effort could have been put into this game, at least in this regard. The max potential isn’t jaw-dropping as well, it’s still fairly decent though. A big positive is the RTP, which is quite a bit higher than the average percentage. The bonus features are good, although the Respin Feature seems too slow-paced, but that’s barely an inconvenience. Overall, Big Juan is not a bad slot, but it’s quite far from being a well-polished slot as well.
